A Collection Of Site-specific Facade Experiments.
Students from the Royal Danish Academy's Master program in "Architecture and Extreme Environments" have created a space of innovation inspired by the challenges of Rajasthan.
From capturing water from the air to repurposing local barks for insulation, from biogas generating walls to salt solar screens, the students have created a structure with 13 facade systems that explore the possibilities of enhancing what buildings can do and strive towards sustainable approaches to construction.
The prototypes were conceived and partly built in Denmark based on previous holistic studies on the challenges and assets of the Dhun region but were tested and assessed with local knowledge and contributions. from the Dhun team.
The program is led by Architects and Associate Professor David A. Garcia, with Associate Professor Runa Johannessen, PhD Fellow Otis Sloan Wood, and Architect Will Lambeth.
